Re: DAK Opel Blitz
Hi there Jamie,
Looking good so far!
Got a question: how was the fitting of you cabin? I have this Opel myself and I had a lot of work getting rid of a seam between the chassis and the cabin. I'm curious if this because of the model or just my mistake. You would say normally with Tamiya you don't have any fitting problems...
greetings, Richard.

Re: DAK Opel Blitz
Jamie! This is perfect!
But I'm sorry to interrupt... I'm building a GAZ AAA and would like to know what parts I shouldn't glue now to ease the painting process. Is there any tip you (all) could give to me, so I don't mess it up as I messed it up with my Henschel 33D1 (now called R2D2, since it's waiting for the garbage) !
Thanks!
Alex!

Re: DAK Opel Blitz
glad you got a tarp for it - it makes it look more purposeful. I like those lior roar sets myself - they are not over powering and add some great detail. now the interior seats - they look the real deal !!
im guessing this thing is going ice road trucking - on the eastern front !

Re: DAK Opel Blitz
Blimey guys, that was quick! Thanks for your nice comments.
@Alex: I haven't got your kit but assuming it's pretty standard, I would break it down into chassis, cab, load bed. Once the base coat is painted then you can go ahead and glue it together. It's what I've done.
Right chaps, the base coat is painted. I still have to touch up the chips and add a few details, that's tomorrow's job.
@Mark: As you can see mate, your guess couldn't have been more wrong! ;-)

Re: DAK Opel Blitz
@Clarke: The exhuast was a base coat of a grey/brown colour from a mix of Tamiya colours. It then had a wash and filter with AKI Dust Effects and DAK Filter. Lastly a pin wash using AKI Light Rust.
Just a quick update. Oil drums done as is the inside of the flat bed.

Re: DAK Opel Blitz
Ok, the project moves along apace.
The bare metal chips have been done with Vallejo 70822 by brush and sponge. The wash was initially done withh DAK wash but this was too light so Abteilung Shadow Brown was used instead. Also the initial dusting on the tarp has been done, AKI DAK Filter was used as a base followed by Earth Effects.
Hi Mark, I made up this scheme ;-)

Jamie,
Knocked this one out of the park. The weathering effects you did are so subtle, very cool transitions. Great job.
