Hello,
I'd like to introduce myself. My Name is Ben and I'm living near Cologne, Germany.
I'm doing plastic models since I'm 8 years old. It was a birthday present, one of my aunts made me. An Bell UH 1D Helicopter model. I don't know the scale yet, and it doesn't exist anymore. But this was where it started.
Since then, I build a few models. Nothing special. Helicopters, cars, planes (military an civil ones), figures and so on. No special scale. Always, what I'd like to do. Cause the world of modeling is so manifold.
I'm reading this forum very long, but never posted something.
So please take a look to my first try, bringing an AFV model to live. It's the 1:48 Tamiya Tiger 1 Initial Production DAK. I used also some PE parts from the voyager Set for this model and extra main towing cables from Eureka XXL. Towing cable for the tracks is the box one. Tracks are white metal from Friul. Side mudguards are the box ones beeing deformed by heating them up carefully.
Main color is, what tamiya suggests. Also in use are pigments from the art shop. Chipping color is a mix of tamiya flat black and red brown. Washes are self made, sin industries and vallejo. I also used Rust Streaks from AK.
Base is scratch build with DAS modeling clay, sand and stones that I found at the river rhine, which is 1 min. walk from my flat. Background is a photo from tunisia, that I found in the www, printed on DIN A4.
It's not finished jet, but very close to. Need to make little dust here, a little bit of that there....and I don't like the green of gras...
So please enjoy some pictures now. I'll show more, when it's finished.
Thank you for your attention!
We have a little snake here...I know, head is way to big, but I like her. It's an Atlas-viper. Snakes, that life in tunisia.
Overview of the shooting.
