Jagdpanzer IV Series Empty Jagdpanzer IV Series

Post by Tony Lee Wed Apr 18, 2012 1:55 am

    Howdy to All

My latest SPG project has been directed at the Jagdpanzer IV development.
The L/70(A), L/48 A-O, L/48(V) and the L/70(V). They are now ready for the paint phase of construction.

    Jagdpanzer IV Series 100_1316

Yesterday I decided to start with the L/70(V) being anxious to try out Uschi's Disc Stencil set being distributed by AKI here in the states.

    Jagdpanzer IV Series 100_1317

First up was laying down the tricolors using Tamiya Acrylics:

    Jagdpanzer IV Series 100_1318

    Jagdpanzer IV Series 100_1319

    Jagdpanzer IV Series 100_1320

Before calling it a day I went for a test run on the sides and hope to get the rest completed today.

    Jagdpanzer IV Series 100_1321

    Jagdpanzer IV Series 100_1322

I'll report back when the job is finished and let you know how it went. Since the set is not kit specific some careful planning will be involved before proceeding.

    See Ya Later

    Hi Ya Adam
Oh i'm just trying to dodge all the mud holes in the road of life Laughing

The stencil works real well but since a lot of the exterior parts are installed it's not that easy having to contend with all the humps and bumps scratch

One thing I missed while looking over the instructions though was the "Acrylics Only" notation. I never planned to use enamels anyway but for those that do I suppose enamels will remove the sticky backing on the stencil and that would surely ruin your day.

    Gotta get busy,see you later

Finished off the rear end today so that should do it.

I only used one of three pattern strips for the complete job and it can be used again.

    Any Questions

Now that is something to remember Exclamation I do like to use enamel [undercoats]...of course when I do something with this it will be one acrylic over another----thanks for the tip Tony!

    Again---your finish looks tops

    Hi there Adam,

As a modelbuilder who builds mostly German AFV's you can be sure I appreciate these Jagdpanzers a lot. Superb disc-camo.

Keep us posted, I'll be watching this one...

    greetings, Richard.

I've have been looking for a model that had used these stencils but never ran across one so I thought I would be the go firstest. Laughing

I'm happy with the results because I never would have attempted such a scheme without those stencils.

    Thanks All
