A perfect paint job so far! A nice clean palette for some weathering...

Re: Stug III Ausf B - Finished!
Thanks a lot guys. Means a lot.
Since this isn't my area of expertise, I have couple of questions about color details.
What color should the handles on the wire cutters be? I've been seeing mahogany red on a few builds. Were these handles Bakelite, wood, or painted?
What color should the fire extinguisher be? I've seen these in every color except pink.
Was Panzer Gray standard color for large fuel drums, or does anything go? I've seen B/W photos were these look very light on a PG vehicle.
Yeah John, can't wait to start weathering.

The handles are from bakelite. You can use green for the fire extinguisher, the fuel drums.. Don't know but you can use a lighter grey i gues to make it" pop out" more

weathering and stuff. I want to get the gear glued in place and then start working on the upper surfaces again. If anything jumps out, let me know.

Re: Stug III Ausf B - Finished!
Does anyone have a good source or idea for scale rope for tie-down cord? Most stuff is too "hairy" or coarse.

Re: Stug III Ausf B - Finished!
That's looking very nice! I usually just use cotton sewing thread for rope, with a little white glue if it's too hairy. Brush it on and run it between my fingers to smooth it down while it's sticky.

Re: Stug III Ausf B - Finished!
These last photos are a little crappy - taken with phone - but you can see I'm just about done until disaster struck. I found a seam on the barrel ring that once I saw it, I could not let it go. I scraped the paint back to the bare plastic to clean up the seam.
I also got the tracks applied and hull sides muddied. Photo is a little dark.

Re: Stug III Ausf B - Finished!
Photo a friend took the other day. Different subjects but similar finish.
Rope is silk thread for necklaces from a craft store. Wonderful stuff, no fuzz and available in several diameters.I stained it with a wash and added a few highlights with paint.
I'm waiting on tow cables and then this will be done.

Re: Stug III Ausf B - Finished!
Elco, Rick, Phill - Many thanks. Let's get through this one first.
Another super-contrast-low-quality pic but this is sadly where I work huddled under an Ottlight. Yes that is the dining table and those are candle holders on a table runner behind the thinner and blacken-it. sigh.
Un-ditching beams are a common item on 192 stugs. To build a 192 stug without them is like building an urban diorama without a discarded panzerfaust.
I think I need to rethink the layout or just redo these. The paint didn't sit on the surface like I've had luck with in the past. I'm also not sure if the wire looks correct for scale but I can't think of another means the crew would have attached these without fabricating some brackets.
Comments/critiques welcome.
