SdKfz 251/1 scale 1/48 winter camo, Jeep update 02.08

After building 20 SdKfz in scale 1/35, I tryed the Tamiya kit. Overall a good kit, easy to build and with a lot of equipment.
I will build it ootb and have some fun with painting and weathering.

Little update, I found out, that the Tamiya interior is not so good, even the Dragon 251/1 in 1/72 has more details, but it should be ootb, so no scratchwork.
I also ad a Schwimmwagen, it´ll be a small dio in the end.

I started with the primer from Vallejo.

I use the AK colour modulation set.
The last two colours were mixed for the details, painted with brush.

I started painting the details, looking like a toy at that stage, but after a wash and some chipings it started looking like a battle proved vehicle.

One question for interior color, in picture look some "greenish".
I'm not familiar with this AK product and try to find "code" of this color
in regular MC or MA Vallejo color.
Or, i'm wrong?

Difficult to say what code the colours of the set have. You should try the colour modulation set or use Tamiya XF-60, that´s what I used befor the AK set.

Tamiya is always my first pick, but i love to compare contast solution of another brand and,
of course, of another modelar.

Color Modulation sets are made by Vallejo acrilics, but with specific colors develop for us. You can not find those colors on a Vallejo cart.
Also it looks too much green on Tobias photos, but I think it is a problem with withe balance in Tobias' camera (no offense)

I´m using a Nikon D3100 and Adope Photoshop Elements 7.0.
Form my the colour don´t look so greenish, but maybe I should use another program to rework the pictures.

Nothing to forgive. I hope I can start painting to rest of the vehicle this evening. It´ll be a winter camo, done with hairspray.

Thanks Adam and you are right, many people are inspired by this set, me to. It´s a great set and I´ll never ever paint dark yellow vehicles without it.

I painted some detail and equippment for the interior. First I painted the main colour, then I added some washes and scratch.

I painted the rest of my SdKfz 251.

Now I used the hairspray and some white from Tamiya.

Thanks. I added some mud to the tracks. I spray for the first time some Ak earth colour, it sprays like Tamiya colour, really great.
